What's missing from the social web? The ability to just hang out and throw back a few. Really. The missing element from the new, social media driven internet is quite ironically the ability to socialize with people directly, rather than mediated through various services online. And why is this important? Because no matter how much we can expand our social lives online, what matters most is our social lives offline.

This is a short blog post, existing merely to inform all of you that as of today, I am 26 years old. I may act young, but I feel old. Old enough that I can't even stare at the college girls without feeling lecherous.

Now geddof the lawn, you damn kids, and let me enjoy my birthday! :D

I'm finally picking up on a message my body keeps telling me, every time I stay up all night to work on a project or do some other activity. That message is simply: "Stop doing this stuff. You're only going to kill yourself."

There are a lot of things that I work on, and many more I'm trying to work on as well. Trying to handle all of this often makes me feel like a headless chicken: running around a lot but ultimately accomplishing nothing. To combat this helpless feeling, I've decided to manage the situation with two simple resolutions, which should improve my quality of life and might help yours as well.

Well, it's now 2009. With another year just begun, it's time for me to start looking at what I want to accomplish this year. Hopefully I'll do a much better job of things in '09 than I did in '08.

For Saturday and Sunday, I am suspending political coverage of the coalition situation in Canada, due to threats to my power from a coalition of projects needing updates, events I am attending, and housework that I must complete. On Monday coverage will resume, and the first order of business will be telling everyone just what kind of evil kitten-eating cowboy Stephen Harper really is.

After over two and a half years with Toronto Go-Getters Toastmasters (since back when it was known as Toast IT) I'll be leaving the club at the end of 2008. Toronto Go-Getters was my first Toastmasters club (at least, the first I joined as a member) and it's been a fun trip with them.

That is, to make ends meet and get money for upgrading, I'll be taking up blue collar work for a while.
